Guwahati, 16 June (HS): A sensational attack has come to light at night in the Garchuk area of Guwahati metropolis. It is alleged that a youth named Kriti Raj Deuri roamed around in local tea shops and hotels with the intention of extorting money and threatening the shopkeepers.

Kriti Raj allegedly threatened a shopkeeper that he would shoot him if he did not pay the money. The frightened shopkeepers immediately informed the police about this.

Kriti Raj also attacked the police team that reached the spot. SI Rinku Borah was injured in the attack. It is alleged that he was beaten with a stick and the accused even bit him with his teeth.

The attacker has been identified as Kriti Raj Deuri, who claims to be the son of a BJP leader.

After the incident, the police took immediate action and arrested Kriti Raj Deuri. The investigation into the case is going on.
