Jorhat (Assam), 14 June (HS): Blood donation is a great donation Taking this great slogan as an ideal, a blood donation camp was organized at Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH) on the occasion of World Blood Donation Day on Saturday. Through this special blood donation camp, Jorhat has demonstrated a sympathetic social responsibility.

This blood donation program named Raktdhara was organized in Jorhat in collaboration with the National Medicos Organization and Seva Bharti Purvanchal. This program was organized in the blood bank of Jorhat Medical College. Kaziranga Lok Sabha constituency MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa attended this camp as the chief guest.

MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa praised the generous spirit of the blood donors by giving them certificates on this occasion. He said that this step of the doctors will increase awareness about blood donation among the general public.

Apart from MP Kamakhya Tasa, Superintendent of Jorhat Medical College Dr. Manav Gohain, Senior Physician Dr. Amrit Sakia and many other senior doctors along with more than 100 junior doctors (interns) and health care workers were not only present in the program, but more than 100 doctors also donated blood.

This blood donation program has set an example that apart from their responsibilities, doctors also present a unique example of social duty and the enthusiasm and participation of doctors in this great work of saving lives through blood donation becomes a source of inspiration for everyone. -------------
