Guwahati, 14 June (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has recently written a letter to the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand regarding the mysterious death of a student of Dima Hasao district and appealed for an in-depth investigation of the matter.

Chief Minister Dr. Sarma shared the letter on social media on Saturday and wrote that the news in which Rashmita Hojai died has distressed us. I have personally requested Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to get this matter investigated so that justice can be done.

Assam Pradesh Congress President and MP Gaurav Gogoi has also written a letter to the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand demanding an inquiry for a proper investigation into how Rashmita Hojai, a resident of Dima Hasao district, died tragically in Uttarakhand. He has appealed to arrest the culprits and give them the harshest punishment and provide justice to the family of the deceased Rashmita Hojai.

It is noteworthy that Rashmita Hojai had gone to Delhi on June 5 to appear in the Railway Recruitment Board examination. She went missing on the same day. But the saddest thing is that on June 10, her dead body was recovered from Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand. ------------------------
