New Delhi, June 14(HS): Pranati Nayak from India showcased an impressive performance in the vault event at the Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championship 2025, currently taking place at the Jecheon Gymnasium in South Korea, securing a bronze medal. In the final held on Saturday, the 30-year-old Pranati achieved third place with a score of 13.466.In this event, China's Yihan Zhang won the gold medal and Vietnam's Nguyen Thi Quynh Nhu secured the silver. Another Indian participant, Pratisha Samanta, finished fourth with a score of 13.016, missing out on a medal.This bronze medal is Pranati Nayak's third medal in her Asian Championship career.
She previously won bronze in the vault event in 2019 (Ulaanbaatar) and 2022 (Doha). With this achievement, she has surpassed Dipa Karmakar's record of two medals, becoming the gymnast with the most medals for India in this competition.In March of this year, Pranati also won a bronze medal in the vault event at the FIG Artistic Gymnastics Apparatus World Cup held in Antalya, Turkey. Her consistent performance is a significant achievement for Indian gymnastics.
