New Delhi, June 14(HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Cyprus, Canada, and Croatia from June 15 to 19, focusing on the G7 summit in Canada. He will attend the summit in Kananskis on June 16-17, marking his sixth consecutive participation. The Prime Minister plans to discuss global issues like energy security, artificial intelligence, quantum technology, and innovation. He will engage with G7 leaders, invited nations, and heads of international organizations, with several bilateral meetings planned. His visit to Canada holds significance for India, as it highlights India's role in the G7 and provides a platform to address India-Canada relations amid existing tensions.
Canada's Prime Minister Mark Carney emphasized India's importance as the fifth-largest economy and its crucial role in the global supply chain. Modi's tour begins in Cyprus, marking the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister in two decades, where he will meet with President Nikos Christodoulides and address business leaders. The visit aims to enhance diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties between India and Cyprus.
Following Canada, he will visit Croatia on June 18, meeting Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and President Zoran Milanović, strengthening India's relations with the EU.
