MLA Kathua meets Ministers, seeks redressal of key issues

Srinagar, 14 June (H.S.): Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Kathua, Dr Bharat Bhushan, today met Ministers Javed Ahmed Rana and Sakina Itoo, at the Civil Secretariat Srinagar and raised several constituency-related issues.

During his meeting with Minister Sakina Itoo, the MLA highlighted the concerns of overstaying Lecturers and Master Grade Teachers from Kathua district who have been serving in hard areas of Doda, Ramban, Kishtwar, and Reasi for the past 3 to 5 years.

He urged the Minister to consider their transfer back to Kathua as many of them have aged parents and families in need of support.

In his meeting with Minister Javed Rana, Dr Bhushan raised the issue of severe water scarcity in the Kandi belt and urban areas of Kathua and Nagri.

He requested the sanctioning of at least 60 Deep Borewells and the allotment of a new water tanker to meet the drinking water needs of the region.

He also sought urgent repairs to the Gujjar and Bakerwal Hostel in Kathua, and the construction of additional classrooms and sanitary toilet complexes in High School Jarai, Primary School Maksoospur, and Primary School Chak Gota near Lakhanpur.

To promote pilgrim tourism, the MLA requested the construction of one Forest Rest House each near the shrines of Maa Ama Bhai in Dilwan and Mata Jai Shree in Dhanore, Lakhanpur.

Both Ministers assured the MLA that the issues raised will be taken up for early redressal.
