New Delhi, June 14(HS): India has distanced itself from the SCO statement on the Israel-Iran conflict, emphasizing that it has already clarified its position on the issue. The Ministry of External Affairs noted that India informed other SCO members of its stance and chose not to participate in discussions about the statement, which condemned Israel's military actions. The SCO expressed serious concern over escalating tensions in the Middle East, particularly regarding Israel's attacks on Iranian territory. India's Ministry reiterated that its position, clarified on June 13, remains unchanged, advocating for dialogue and diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions. Additionally, Foreign Minister Jaishankar discussed the situation with his Iranian counterpart, expressing concern from the international community and calling for avoidance of aggressive actions and a return to diplomacy.
