Istanbul (Turkey)/Paris (France), June 14(HS): French President Emmanuel Macron declared that France will defend Israel in the event of an Iranian attack, emphasizing that France will not engage in an aggressive campaign. He advocated for a diplomatic path to alleviate tensions following recent Israeli airstrikes on Iran and confirmed the postponement of a UN conference on Palestine due to security concerns. Macron expressed disappointment about Iran's dismissal of U.S. suggestions for limited uranium enrichment, labeling the potential of Iran developing nuclear weapons as a serious threat to regional and global stability.

Following a National Security and Defense Council meeting, he announced the strengthening of Operation Sentinel, deploying 7,000 soldiers daily to safeguard sensitive sites. Macron reiterated France's commitment to a two-state solution and recognized Palestine's sovereignty, asserting that the postponement of the conference would not diminish this resolve. He advised against travel to the Middle East due to concerns over Iran's destabilizing activities, highlighting France's proactive stance on national security in light of escalating tensions.
