Lucknow, 14 June (HS): Cow manure, urine, and weeds crushed by feet

will now yield a price in addition to milk.

Compressed biogas (CBG) plants will be built in cow shelters to

accomplish this. Panchgavya will also be

manufactured here. In the initial phase,

these plants will be put in eight different divisions. It will begin at Bareilly. This project is being finalized in

collaboration between the Cow Service Commission and the Animal Husbandry

Department. Cow shelters are being

pushed in every district around the state.

Nearby farmers will be able to sell cow milk, curd, cow dung, and pee,

among other things, to the CBG plant located in the cow shelters.

This will not only increase the

income of the cow shelters, but will also increase the income of the farmers of

the nearby villages. Along with this, there will also be promotion of cows. CBG

plants are running in cow shelters in many states including Madhya Pradesh,

Rajasthan, West Bengal, and Maharashtra. The plant has been set up with the

cooperation of oil and gas companies. Swami Devanand of Laltipara Gaushala of

Gwalior told reporters that after the plant is installed, the cost of cow's

food is covered by cow dung and cow urine. Milk is in additional profit.

Teams from Madhya Pradesh and West

Bengal gave information: Swami Devanand and Prabhu Gupta of Siliguri had come

to Gau Seva Aayog to discuss the CBG plant and Panchgavya plant running at

Laltipara Gaushala in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. They gave detailed information

about the plant running there. Both shared new technology and models regarding

compressed biogas and Panchgavya products. It was told that the CBG plant

converts cow dung into bio CNG (compressed natural gas) and organic manure,

which promotes sustainable methods while reducing carbon emissions.

Panchagavya increases immunity: Panchagavya

is made by mixing cow's milk, curd, ghee, cow urine and cow dung in water. This

mixture is used in religious rituals and Ayurvedic medicine in Hinduism. Former

Director of Ayurveda Department Prof PC Saxena said that the use of Panchagavya

increases the resistance to diseases. It provides calcium, protein and

vitamins. It purifies the body. It is used to increase the fertility of fields

and as an insecticide. Currently, Panchagavya is prepared by a few companies.

Half a liter of medicinal Panchagavya costs around Rs. 1000 - 1500, while

Panchagavya related to farming is available from Rs. 200 - 1000.

Uttar Pradesh is number one in the

field of CBG: Uttar Pradesh is number one in the whole of India in the field of

Compressed Biogas (CBG). There are 47 Bio CBG projects approved by the State

Level Committee in the state, whose capacity is 407 TPD and cost Rs 2589 crore.

The biggest CBG plant is installed in Mathura, whose total capacity is 42.6

TPD. While 25 compressed biogas plants are running, whose capacity is 213

tonnes per day (TPD). The state has the highest number of CBG plants in the

whole country, 19 percent. After this comes Gujarat (16 percent), Maharashtra

(9 percent).

“Gau Seva Aayog and Animal

Husbandry Department are working on this project. In the first phase, the plant

will be installed in the Gaushala of eight divisions. Then it will be delivered

to other divisions. Preparations are on to start from Bareilly. This will

promote the conservation and promotion of cows. Work will also be done in the

direction of rural economy and environmental purity,” remarked Shyam Bihari

Gupta, Chairman Gau Seva Aayog.
