Baksa (Assam), 14 June (HS): The body of a person was recovered from Palla river in Baksa district on Saturday. The body has been identified as Khobo Barman of Rajdhakamal village. Forty-six-year-old Khobo Barman was missing for the last few days. The police have taken the body in possession and sent it for post-mortem.

According to the Govardhana police station, on Saturday, the body of Khobo Barman was seen floating in the Palla river of Rajdhakamal village by the local people and informed the police, after which the police reached the spot and with the help of the local people, took out the body of Khobo Barman from the river. Later, the police took the body in possession and sent it for post-mortem. The police is investigating how Khobo Barman killed.

According to the local people, Khobo Barman had gone out of his house during the day on June 11, after which he went missing. Khobo Burman often used to collect shells and catch fish from fields, rivers, streams, ponds etc. and sell them in the market. It is suspected that Khobo Burman entered the Palla river for the purpose of catching shells and fish and killed due to drowning in the water. Police have registered an FIR in this case and are taking further action.
