Sonitpur (Assam), 14 June (HS): Two girls killed on Saturday due to drowning in Molan Pokhari (pond) of Dhekiajuli under Sonitpur district. The deceased include three-year-old Priyanka Khudal and five-year-old Nandali Khudal. Police has taken both the bodies in its custody and sent them to the hospital for post-mortem.

Police has told that this incident happened in Molan Pokhari located in Jaria Basti of Dhekiajuli. As soon as the local people got the information about the drowning of the two girls who had gone to take bath in the pond, they showed promptness and took both the children out of the pond and took them to the hospital, however, by then it was too late, the doctors of the hospital declared both of them dead. Due to this incident, an atmosphere of mourning prevails in the entire village. Police has taken both the bodies in its custody and sent them to the hospital for post-mortem.
