Amravati, 13 June (HS): A supporter of former minister and founder
president of Prahar Janshakti Party, Bachhu Kadu consumed poison, following a delay in taking steps by the state government to resolve the issues raised by
Kadu. The supporter, a member of Prahar, Ajay Bhawatrao Chaudhari (35), a
resident of Karajgaon in Warud Tehsil of Amravati district, who consumed
poison, has been hospitalised.
Meanwhile, the health of Kadu deteriorated on the
sixth day of his indefinite hunger strike. He vomited blood, posing a serious
concern for his supporters. He launched a hunger strike on June 8, to press for
his long-pending demands. The demands include waiver of cop loan for farmers,
hike in financial support for the disabled, and 15 other demands.
Sources stated that Maharashtra’s Revenue Minister
Chandrashekhar Bawankule is expected to meet Kadu on Friday. A viable solution
to the demands is expected to be worked out during the meeting to end Kadu’s
hunger strike.
