Man who commited theft at UP cop’s residence, shot & arrested
Lucknow, 13 June (HS): There was an encounter between the miscreant and the police late on Thursday night in Para police station area. Stolen government pistol, Rs. 90,000 in cash and other things have been recovered from the accused.

Lucknow, 13 June (HS): There was an

encounter between the miscreant and the police late on Thursday night in Para

police station area. Stolen government pistol, Rs. 90,000 in cash and other

things have been recovered from the accused. DCP West Vishwajeet said that the

arrested miscreant has been identified as Karan Verma, resident of Matan Tola,

Gosaiganj. The accused had committed theft in the house of a constable in a

four-storey building in Para. He had stolen jewelry, government Glock pistol

and other things from the house. A case was registered on the complaint of the

constable and teams were deployed to search for him. His location was found on

the railway line side of Bibikheda village late on Thursday night. When the

Crime Branch and Police surrounded him, the miscreant opened fire on the police

team. In retaliation, the police fired, in which he got injured. The police have

sent him to the hospital for treatment. The DCP said that the accused has been

shot in the leg. More than six cases are registered against him in different

police stations. The police is taking further action.
