Bangalore, 11 June (H.S.) : AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge has accused the central government of misusing the ED raids to divide the Congress party.

Speaking in Kalaburagi, he condemned the attack on Bellary Congress MP Tukaram and the MLAs, saying that the Enforcement Directorate officials have been angry with the Congress party since the beginning, which is why they are targeting and attacking Congress MLAs.

The intention must be to divide the Congress party by harassing them through ED raids, but that is not possible, he said.

He also claimed that the ED officials know the reason for the raid. Kharge said that raids by ED officials are not new.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's response

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has expressed anger over the Enforcement Directorate's raid on Karnataka's Bellary Congress MP and MLA in connection with the Karnataka Valmiki Corporation money embezzlement case.

Speaking at Gauribidanur in Chikkaballapur district, he said, If the raid by the ED is a violation of any law, we will not support it. Let action be taken as per the law. We will not obstruct the implementation of the law.
