IREDA Successfully Raises ₹2,005.90 Crore via QIP to Boost Green Financing

Delhi, 11 June (H.S.): Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) raised ₹2,005.90 crore through a Qualified Institutions Placement (QIP) by issuing 12.15 crore equity shares at ₹165.14 per share, a 5.00% discount to the floor price of ₹173.83. The QIP, launched on June 5, 2025, and closed on June 10, 2025, attracted a strong response from domestic and foreign qualified institutional buyers, including insurance companies and foreign portfolio investors. The issue was oversubscribed with bids totaling ₹2,005.90 crore against an initial size of ₹1,500 crore, resulting in a subscription of 1.34 times.

This capital infusion will bolster IREDA's Tier-I capital and Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), facilitating increased financing capabilities for the growing renewable energy sector in India.

Chairman & Managing Director Shri Pradip Kumar Das emphasized that the successful QIP completion shortly after the IPO in November 2023 reflects the confidence of investors and the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy in IREDA. He expressed appreciation to government officials and the Board of Directors for their support. IREDA also thanked institutional investors for their ongoing commitment, reinforcing its dedication to advancing clean energy financing in the country.
