Lausanne (Switzerland), June 11(HS): Thomas Bach, the outgoing president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), will officially handover presidential responsibilities to Kirsty Coventry during a ceremony at Olympic House on June 23, from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. (Indian time 2:30 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.). Bach, who became the ninth president in 2013 and was re-elected in March 2021, is set to be honored as the IOC's honorary life president at the 144th session in Greece in March 2025. Kirsty Coventry, elected in March 2025, will be the 10th IOC president and the first African and woman in this role. The ceremony will be livestreamed on the IOC YouTube channel.
