New Delhi, June 11 (H.S.): The Congress party has expelled Rajya Sabha member Laxman Singh, brother of Digvijay Singh, for 6 years due to anti-party activities, as announced by Tariq Anwar, Secretary General of the disciplinary committee.
The specific reasons for the expulsion were not disclosed, but Singh's recent comments about the party leadership's immaturity and remarks regarding Robert Vadra and Rahul Gandhi following Operation Sindoor reportedly made the Congress high command uncomfortable. The expulsion is effective immediately.
Singh, a five-time MP and three-time MLA from Madhya Pradesh, was first elected in 1990. He joined BJP in 2004 and returned to Congress in 2013 after winning Lok Sabha elections in 1994 and 2004.
