New Delhi, June 11 (H.S.): The number of active COVID-19 cases in the country has surpassed seven thousand. According to the latest data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Wednesday, 306 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours. Consequently, the total number of active cases in the country has increased to 7,121.
According to the ministry, six deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours. Out of the six deaths, three were reported from Kerala, two from Karnataka, and one from Maharashtra. Meanwhile, 929 people have also recovered from COVID-19 during this period.When it comes to the states, Kerala has the highest number of active cases at 2,223. The state also reported the highest number of new infections in the last 24 hours, with 170 new cases recorded. In Gujarat, 114 new cases were reported, bringing the active case count to 1,223. Delhi also saw an increase in COVID-19 cases, with the active cases reaching 757.
