Guwahati, 11 June (HS): Meghalaya Police has intensified the investigation into the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi, a resident of Madhya Pradesh. It is bringing the arrested accused to Shillong one by one. Under the 'Operation Honeymoon' of Meghalaya Police, four accused of Raja murder case were brought to Borjhar airport in Guwahati by plane at 8 am today.
According to local police officials, Meghalaya Police brought the four accused from Indore to Delhi. After this, all four were brought to Guwahati by plane from Delhi. Immediately from Guwahati, the police team left for the capital Shillong by road. The health of the four accused will be examined in Shillong. It has been claimed that all the four accused have confessed to the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi. However, the formal statement of the police has not come out in this regard.
Meghalaya Police has reached Shillong last night with Sonam Raghuvanshi, the alleged main accused in the Raja murder case. Sonam's health check-up was done at Ganesh Das Hospital. She is currently kept in the Police Guest House in Shillong. It has been told that Sonam's pregnancy report has come negative. Meghalaya Police will present the four accused brought from Indore in Shillong court today and take them on police remand and start further interrogation.
It is worth mentioning that recently Raja Raghuvanshi and Sonam Raghuvanshi had reached Meghalaya from Indore in Madhya Pradesh to celebrate their honeymoon. Raja Raghuvanshi was murdered there. This created a sensation in Madhya Pradesh and Meghalaya. This incident gave a big blow to the tourism sector of Meghalaya. Taking the Raja murder case seriously, the Meghalaya government ordered the police to investigate. The police started investigating the murder of Raja, which had tarnished its reputation.
