Guwahati, 10 June (HS): The story of Sonam Raghuvanshi (24), who came on a trip to the Northeast, has now reached the investigation of the crime. Sonam, arrested for the murder of her husband Raja Raghuvanshi, will land at Guwahati Airport at around 2:45 pm on Tuesday. After this, the Meghalaya Police will take her to Shillong on transit remand.

Sonam was taken by road from Ghazipur to Patna, from where she will reach Guwahati by normal flight. The last journey will be to Shillong, where further interrogation and legal action will continue.

According to the Meghalaya Police, five accused have been arrested in this case so far. Three have already been taken on transit remand by the Meghalaya Police. ADCP (Crime) Rajesh Dandotiya said that all the accused are currently being interrogated in the Indore Police Commissionerate. The transit remand of three accused was taken yesterday. The fourth one has been arrested today.

It is noteworthy that Sonam was produced in Ghazipur court on the night of June 9, from where permission was given to hand her over to the Meghalaya Police. The hearing went on till late night.

It is noteworthy that the case started on May 23, when Raja and Sonam were holidaying in Sohra (Cherrapunji) in Meghalaya and suddenly went missing. On June 2, Raja's body was found in a ditch near the Vesodong waterfall, while Sonam was missing since then.

Sonam was caught from 'Kashi Dhaba' on Ghazipur-Varanasi road. The dhaba employee told that Sonam had asked for a mobile to call her parents. From that call, MP Police traced her location and with the help of UP Police, she was caught.

On Monday evening around 6:30 pm, the Meghalaya Police team took Sonam into custody from the One-Stop Center. However, the police say that she surrendered at Nandganj police station in Ghazipur.

Meanwhile, Sonam's brother Govind also reached Ghazipur from Meghalaya. He told the media, If she is guilty, she should be hanged. Whatever the government decides, we will accept it.

Another accused Akash Rajput was arrested from Chauki village in Lalitpur district of Uttar Pradesh on the night of June 8. Ghazipur SP Mushtaq informed, Meghalaya Police is interrogating him, they will take further action.
