30 May (HS): In an important decision, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University,

Lucknow, under the Government of Uttar Pradesh, has nominated Professor Vatsala

Mishra, Principal, Motilal Nehru Medical College, Prayagraj, as a member of the

Executive Council of the University. This nomination was approved and issued by

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sanjeev Mishra on 23 May 2025 under the Uttar Pradesh

Medical University Act 2018 (Section 20 (1) and 20 (2)(3)). This tenure will be

effective for the next three years. Prof. Vatsala Mishra, who has been the

former Head of the Department of Pathology and Academic Dean, has been a

dedicated, visionary and highly experienced teacher in the field of medical

education and institutional administration. She has not only played a leading

role in improving academic quality, but has also made significant contributions

in the areas of research, examination reform and faculty development.

As

Principal, Prof. Mishra has led Motilal Nehru Medical College to numerous

achievements—be it the expansion of infrastructure, implementation of new

schemes or creation of a student-friendly environment. The innovations

introduced by her have further strengthened the identity of the institute at

the state level.

Her

appointment will ensure academic depth, administrative experience and effective

presence of women leadership in the decision making of the working council.

This appointment is a matter of pride and inspiration for Prayagraj and the

entire medical community.
