New Delhi, May 30(HS): The Income Tax Department has released the Excel utility form for ITR-1 and ITR-4 for the assessment year 2025-26, allowing taxpayers to file their income tax returns for income earned in financial year 2024-25. The announcement was made via 'X' on Friday, enabling the filing process. The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has also extended the deadline for filing income tax returns for ITR-1 and ITR-4 from July 31 to September 15. These forms are applicable for individuals, HUFs, and entities with annual income up to Rs. 50 lakh not requiring audited accounts. Taxpayers can now report long-term capital gains of up to Rs. 1.25 lakh from listed shares in ITR-1 and ITR-4.
