- Spreading Awareness Is the Responsibility of Social Media Influencers
- CM Inaugurates Digital Marketing Workshop
Bhopal, 30 May (H.S.) : Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that social media plays a vital role in spreading factual information to the masses and is, therefore, an effective tool for strengthening democratic systems. He stated that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi recognizes the potential of social media and consistently connects with people across the nation through various digital platforms.
Dr. Yadav was addressing the inaugural session of a Digital Marketing Workshop organized by the Tribal Research Institute (TRI) for tribal social media influencers. The program commenced at the Tribal Museum with the Deep-Prajjwalan and floral tributes offered to portraits of tribal freedom fighters.
Dr. Yadav was welcomed with a tulsi plant, a rudraksha mala, and a traditional shawl. The event featured Dr. Himanshu Rai, Director of IIM Indore, as the keynote speaker. Also present were Additional Chief Secretary and TRI Director Shri Vinod Kumar, former Chairperson of Bal Bharti Shri Nishant Khare, and Commissioner and Secretary of Public Relations Shri Sudam Khade.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav emphasized that social media is a simple yet transformative technology that allows individuals to enhance their talent, ability, and potential. In a democracy where equal opportunities are available to all, access to such technology is indeed a blessing. When used for personal and societal benefit, social media can lead to continuous self-improvement and progress. He added that Prime Minister Modi is actively encouraging citizens to become active participants on digital platforms.
Quoting Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Dr. Yadav highlighted how determination can create history. He noted that Netaji gave up his ICS career to showcase Indian talent and capability to the world. Despite India's rich legacy of valiant warriors and freedom fighters, many historical contributions have remained underrepresented. For example, Queen Durgavati defeated Emperor Akbar three times, yet this story is seldom heard. It is the responsibility of social media influencers to bring such impactful historical narratives to the public and raise awareness.
Dr. Himanshu Rai, Director of IIM Indore, spoke about the unique qualities of influencers, leadership traits, their responsibilities toward followers, and the art of communication. He emphasized that success demands consistent effort and that determination is just as important as hard work. One must strive with full strength and capacity to achieve success in any endeavour.
TRI Additional Commissioner Laxman Singh Markam shared that the workshop is being conducted in alignment with the vision of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav. It aims to train tribal social media influencers in creating digital content in local dialects to promote tribal culture and traditions. The initiative will help youth develop digital marketing skills and enable them to disseminate information about government welfare schemes to those in need.
A total of 276 participants from across Madhya Pradesh have registered for the workshop. Notably, 76 of these influencers have a collective follower base of over 200,000 on social media. The first phase of the workshop includes guidance from 8 subject experts who will mentor the influencers.
