New Delhi, May 30 (HS): The launch of the AyushSuraksha Portal by Union Minister of State Prataprao Jadhav marks a significant advancement in consumer protection and regulatory oversight in traditional medicine in India. The portal aims to enhance accountability and transparency within the Ayush sector, empowering citizens and professionals to actively report misleading advertisements and adverse drug reactions (ADRs).
Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, emphasized that the portal represents a leap in pharmacovigilance, allowing real-time monitoring and coordinated action against misleading ads. It integrates data from various regulatory bodies, facilitating easier reporting and systematic analysis. Developed as a response to a Supreme Court order, the portal adheres to the requirement for a centralized dashboard for tracking misleading advertisements and ADRs, ensuring timely action from State Licensing Authorities.
The AyushSuraksha Portal, launched with support from the Central Council for Research in Siddha and aligned with the National Pharmacovigilance Program, provides a seamless digital process for reporting issues. It integrates multiple authorities, including CDSCO, MoI&B, CCPA, NCISM, NCH, PCI, FSSAI, and State Licensing Authorities, to ensure coordinated responses and enforcement.
By creating a centralized dashboard for reported cases, the portal enables real-time tracking and swift regulatory actions, while offering citizens a direct avenue to voice concerns and gain transparency regarding the outcomes of their reports. The initiative exemplifies the Ministry of Ayush’s commitment to responsible governance and the safety of those relying on traditional medicine, ensuring that only safe and credible products reach the public.
