Kanpur,

30 May (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation

stone of 15 mega development projects worth more than Rs 47,573 crore in Kanpur

on Friday. In his address, he said that now India is becoming self-reliant

under Make in India and the whole world has seen how India's Brahmos missile

has defeated the enemy country in Operation Sindoor. India is now capable of

fighting terrorism along with development. Operation Sindoor has been

postponed, but it is not over yet. The action will continue in future as well.

After

the road show in Bihar, the Prime Minister reached Kanpur's Chakeri Airport,

where he was welcomed by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and

public representatives. After this, the Prime Minister's helicopter reached the

helipad of Chandrashekhar Azad Agricultural Technology University. From here he

directly reached the public meeting venue and inaugurated and laid the

foundation stone of various development projects worth about Rs 47.5,00 crores.

The

whole world saw the valour of the Indian Army: At the beginning of his address,

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the name of Shubham Dwivedi, who was killed

in the Pahalgam terror attack, and said that our visit was scheduled for April

24, but the visit was postponed after Shubham of Kanpur was killed in the

terror incident. The whole country is feeling the pain and anger of Shubham's

wife and sister Aishnya. Due to this anger, the Indian Army conducted Operation

Sindoor and entered the enemy country and destroyed the terrorist hideouts. A

clear glimpse of self-reliant India is seen in this operation and the way the

indigenous Brahmos missile caused destruction there, the whole world saw it. He

said that our army performed such valour that the Pakistani army started

pleading for a ceasefire. Here again I want to say that there should be no

misunderstanding about the enemy country pleading about Operation Sindoor. The

operation has just been stopped, not ended. India will give a befitting reply

to every terrorist attack.

Uttar

Pradesh is the new address of Brahmos missile: The Prime Minister said that in

future Kanpur will be at the forefront in making UP a big exporter of defense

and Uttar Pradesh will be the new address of Brahmos missile. Many factories

will be set up here, large scale investments will come, and thousands of youth

here will get good employment opportunities. Modi said that UP and Kanpur has

to be taken to new heights. This is the first priority of the double engine government;

this will happen only when industries are promoted here and Kanpur's old glory

returns again. The previous governments had ignored the needs of modern

industries. Industries kept migrating from Kanpur, family-oriented governments

kept sitting with their eyes closed, and the result was that not only Kanpur

but the whole of UP lagged behind.

The

Prime Minister said that there are two most important conditions for the

industrial progress of the state. First is self-reliance in the energy sector

i.e. electricity supply and second is infrastructure and connectivity. Today,

660 MW Panki Power Plant, 660 MW Nevali Power Plant, 1320 MW Jawaharpur Power

Plant, 660 MW Obarasi Power Plant and 660 MW Khurja Power Plant have been

inaugurated here. This is a big step towards meeting the energy needs of UP.

These power plants will further increase the availability of electricity in UP

and will also give impetus to the industries here. Today, many more development

works worth more than 47,000 crores have been inaugurated and the foundation

stone has been laid.

Development

in Kanpur will be like a metro city: The Prime Minister said that the

infrastructure and facilities that are available in big metro cities will now

be seen in Kanpur as well. A few years ago, our government gifted the first

metro to Kanpur. Now it has reached the second phase up to the central station.

The metro is progressing first through elevated and now through underground.
