Pune, 29 May (HS): In

the Vaishnavi Hagwane suicide case, her husband Shashank, mother-in-law Lata,

and sister-in-law (Shashank’s sister) Karishma have been remanded to 14-day

magisterial custody. They have been sent to the Yerwada jail.

The three were presented before the Shivajinagar

Court on Thursday. Police did not request police custody for them, and the court

remanded them the magisterial custody. Police, however, stated that police

custody may be required in the future for further enquiry into the case.

Meanwhile, Lata and Karishma have applied for bail.

Police arrested Santosh Dattatray Gaikwad for making

a fake call relating to the arrest of Nilesh Chavan, who is absconding and is one

of the accused in the case. Vaishnavi’s father, Anil Kaspate named Nilesh
