Hamirpur,
29 May (HS): On Thursday, during an encounter in Hamirpur district, a criminal
was seriously injured by a police bullet and another gangster criminal has been
arrested. The injured criminal has been admitted to the government hospital for
treatment. Illegal weapons and cartridges have been recovered from the
possession of both criminals. The criminals called the police team on phone and
attacked them with an axe, in which a constable was badly injured, whose
treatment is still being done by the doctors.
Vardani,
a resident of Chamrakhanna village of Binwar police station area of Hamirpur
district, had informed UP-112 at 1:45 am on Wednesday and Thursday night that
Balindra was fighting in the village under the influence of alcohol. On
receiving the information, PRB commander head constable Suresh Kumar and driver
head constable Sanjay Kumar Singh reached the spot. Balindra Verma son of Siddh
Gopal and Siddh Gopal alias Siddha suddenly attacked both the policemen with a
sharp weapon axe. Sanjay Kumar Singh was seriously injured by the axe. The
attackers badly injured the constable by biting him with their teeth. Both the
constables ran away to save their lives. The seriously injured constable has
been admitted to the government hospital of Maudha, where doctors are treating
him.
Binwar
police station in-charge Dharmendra Kumar said that a case has been registered
against both the attackers under serious sections. CO Vinita Pahal said that
the police was checking at the turn of Madarpur village in Maudha area, when a
man started running after seeing the police. When the police asked him to stop,
he opened fire on the police team. When the police retaliated, Arman Lala, son
of Gayasuddin, resident of Naraich village, got injured by the bullet. The
police arrested him and admitted him to the government hospital. He has been
shot in the leg. A pistol and cartridges have been recovered from the spot.
This criminal is a history-sheeter against whom many cases are registered in
the police station. He has also gone to jail.
Early
this morning, the police surrounded the people who attacked the policemen near
Larund village in Binwar area. Balendra, son of Siddh Gopal, was seriously
injured in the retaliatory firing by the police. His father Siddh Gopal was
also arrested in the encounter. ASP Manoj Gupta told on Thursday that the
criminals who attacked the police team's constable opened fire on seeing the
police, in response to which the police also had to open fire. Balendra was
injured due to the bullet and has been admitted to the government hospital in
Maudha for treatment. Illegal weapons and cartridges have been recovered from
his possession.
