Lucknow,

28 May (HS): Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh released a press

release on Wednesday, stating that our government's objective is to promote

pilgrimage locations; there is no mention of temple acquisition. The state

government has not yet acquired any temples, and there are no plans to do so in

the future. Minister Jaiveer Singh stated that the state government is building

pilgrimage sites effectively. The

government's objective in carrying out development works is to ensure the ease

of pilgrims visiting the pilgrimage. The state government has worked diligently

to improve temple infrastructure, pilgrim facilities, connectivity, and general

development surrounding the temples.

The

declaration comes after Akhilesh Yadav, head of the Samajwadi Party, spoke out

vehemently on Tuesday against any government involvement in temple

administration, stating that temples must be protected from administrative

corruption.
