Ballia,
28 May (HS): Two people were caught here in separate encounters after
attempting to evade police during a check in the early hours of Wednesday,
according to authorities. According to authorities, the two are facing
attempted murder charges. A police squad attempted to halt three suspected
motorbike riders during a check near Jagannath Tiraha, but they fled, said
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Kripa Shankar. When police encircled
them, the bikers opened fire. In
retaliation, one of the motorcyclists was shot in the leg, while the other two
escaped, he claimed. The injured person was identified as Ravi Prakash Pandey,
also known as Rohit Pandey, a resident of Parsiya village in the Haldi police
station area. According to the ASP, he
is currently receiving treatment in a hospital.
In
a second instance, Shankar stated that a police squad signaled two people
riding a motorcycle to stop during a checkpoint near Maldepur Tiraha, but they
fled. Finding themselves encircled by police pursuing them, the two opened fire
with the purpose of killing at Green Field.
One individual was shot in the left leg in retaliation by the police,
while the other fled the scene, taking advantage of the darkness, according to
ASP. The injured person has been identified as Mukesh Kumar Singh, also known
as Anshu Singh or Rudra Singh. Shankar
said that he is being treated in a hospital. According to authorities, Ravi and
Mukesh both face attempted murder charges.
