28 May (HS): According to authorities, the guy suspected of raping a
six-year-old child was detained on Wednesday after a violent interaction with
police. According to authorities, the accused, Ravindra, reportedly raped the
girl in his village on May 27.
According
to Vikas Pratap Singh Chauhan, the Circle Officer of Khurja, a case was filed
against Ravindra under relevant provisions of the BNS and the Protection of
Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act after the survivor's family filed a
complaint at the Khurja police station.
On
Wednesday morning, the police were informed that the accused was resting near a
tubewell. Ravindra opened fire on the police squad that had arrived to
apprehend him based on the tip. He was
injured by a bullet during police retaliation, according to Chauhan. The
accused was brought to a government hospital. Police seized a country-made pistol
as well as live and used rounds from his possession. The survivor is receiving
treatment at Meerut Medical College.
