Kamal Haasan Sparks Row with Kannada Was Born Out of Tamil Remark, BJP Hits Back

Chennai, 28 May (H.S.) : DMK spokesperson TKS Elangovan has criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for stirring controversy over actor Kamal Haasan's reported statement that Kannada is born out of Tamil. Elangovan accused the BJP of creating trouble and dividing people by misrepresenting historical references as insults.

The moment BJP enters any issue, they talk nonsense, Elangovan said, defending Haasan's comment as likely a historical citation rather than an insult. He emphasized that a language's credit is based on how it is being used, not how it was born in the first place.

Elangovan's remarks come amid a growing controversy surrounding Haasan's statement, with some Kannada activists and politicians taking umbrage. The DMK leader's comments highlight the party's stance on the issue, dismissing the BJP's attempts to create divisions between people.

The controversy has sparked a debate about language and cultural heritage, with many awaiting Haasan's response to the criticism. As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen how the issue will be resolved and whether it will have any further implications for the parties involved.
