Guwahati, 28 May (HS): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will contest all 40 council seats in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). The party will not make any kind of compromise, especially the BJP's stand is completely tough regarding the 10 council seats in Udalguri district.

The party spokesperson said on Wednesday that this announcement has made by the party's state president Dilip Saikia during the BJP's active worker conference and a big public meeting held at Vishnu Rabha Kriti Sangh in Udalguri. He blew the bugle for the upcoming BTR elections in the presence of more than two thousand workers. Saikia made it clear that the BJP will contest in all 40 council areas and called upon all the workers to work hard day and night.

Many leaders including Assam government cabinet minister and Udalguri district in-charge minister Pijush Hazarika, MLA Diganta Kalita, BJP state general secretary Pallav Lochan Das, BTR executive member Diganta Barua, district and divisional presidents were present in this program.

During this, many leaders of UPPL (UPPL) joined BJP. These included more than 1500 grassroots leaders including CWC members Nand Boro and Martin Basumatari, a relative of MLA Govind Chandra Basumatari. Minister Pijush Hazarika urged all the new members to work honestly to make the BJP stronger.--------------
