Lucknow, 27 May (HS): The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh is committed to the

empowerment of the disabled. In this sequence, the government has instructed

the officials to ensure the distribution of free motorized tricycles to

eligible Divyangjans in each district under the Assisted Disabled Empowerment

(ADIP) Scheme of the Government of India. Under the leadership of Chief

Minister Yogi Adityanath, it is being ensured that all eligible Divyangjans are

provided free motorized tricycles and assistive devices in a timely and

transparent manner, so that they can lead a self-reliant and respectable life.

It is noteworthy that for the financial year 2025-26, a budget provision of Rs

37.40 crore has been made for prosthetic limbs and assistive devices and Rs 2

crore for the distribution of motorized tricycles.

UP Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Backward Classes Welfare and

Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Narendra Kashyap held an important

meeting in his office at the Vidhan Sabha on Tuesday and reviewed the welfare

schemes for persons with disabilities. He said Yogi Government has asked the

Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities to prepare a coordinated

action plan in collaboration with ALIMCO so that the full benefit of the

allocated budget reaches the needy. The minister stressed on preparing an

accurate and updated list of beneficiaries of motorized tricycles on the Arjun

portal. He directed to regularly update the information on the portal to

prevent duplication and make the distribution process completely transparent.

He also asked to ensure that no eligible beneficiary is left out and the list

should be re-verified before finalizing it.

Narendra Kashyap said that the aim of the Yogi government is to make the

disabled self-reliant. For this, the distribution process should be made

simple, quick and transparent. He said that recently 100 motorized tricycles

have been distributed to the disabled in each Lok Sabha constituency. Now there

is a plan to expand this initiative further and provide benefits to all the

needy on the basis of demand and eligibility.

Principal Secretary Subhash Chandra Sharma, MD Praveen Kumar, General Manager

Vivek Dwivedi (ALIMCO), Assistant Manager Pankaj Dwivedi along with

departmental officers and Government of India officials were present in the

meeting through video conference.
