Mumbai, 27 May (HS): Six

people were killed by a speeding container when they were pushing a car, which

failed on the Dhule-Solapur Highway near Gevrai village in Beed District. The accident occurred on

Monday late at night. The driver of the container fled the scene after the

accident.

According to police, a

car failed near Gadhi Bridge and was being pushed by six people to take it at Gevrai

village, when the container coming from the opposite side hit them and crushed

them to death.

The deceased have

been identified as Balu Atkare, Manoj Karande, Krishna Jadhav, Deepak Saroya,

Bhagwat Paralkar, and Sachin Nanvare, all residents of Gevrai.

Police are searching

for the container driver.
