New Delhi, May 27 (HS): After scoring a goal for Al Nassr in the last match of the Saudi Pro League, Cristiano Ronaldo posted a message on social media that has intensified speculation about him leaving the club.
Sharing a picture of himself in his Al Nassr jersey, Ronaldo wrote, This chapter is over. The story is still ongoing. Thank you all.
Ronaldo's contract with Al Nassr is set to expire in June. He scored 25 goals this season and was the top scorer in the Saudi Pro League; however, Al Nassr did not qualify for the AFC Champions League.
In the final league match played against Al Fateh, Ronaldo scored one goal, which was his 801st goal in his club career and the 99th for Al Nassr. However, Al Nasr suffered a loss in this thrilling match, with a score of 3-2.
According to some reports, Ronaldo has received an attractive proposal from a Brazilian club, which might give him the opportunity to play in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup. This tournament is scheduled to be held in America from June 14 to July 13. Major clubs from Brazil like Botafogo, Fluminense, Flamengo, and Palmeiras will participate in it.
