Jammu, 27 May (H.S.): Member of Parliament (MP) Jugal Kishore Sharma conducted an extensive tour of Reasi district today, focusing on the promotion of tourism, preservation of cultural heritage and enhancement of connectivity infrastructure in the region. He was accompanied by Reasi MLA Kuldeep Raj Dubey, senior BJP leaders and local dignitaries.

The visit began with a public darbar at the picturesque Sulla Park, where delegations and residents submitted various demands. Key issues raised included the beautification of Sulla Park, systematic development of local tourism sites and the construction of a new public park at Kalka Mata Mandir. Locals also called for more religious and natural sites in Reasi to be officially recognized under Jammu and Kashmir’s tourism map.

At Siarh Baba, a religious and ecological site of major significance, residents expressed concern over neglect since 2014. MP Sharma assured immediate steps for restoration and beautification, emphasizing its potential to emerge as a spiritual and recreational hotspot.

During the tour, Sharma and Dubey also visited Baradhari Bridge, Kansi Patta Temple, Outlet Mata Mandir, Chinkha, Khouri and the Salal Hydroelectric Project. Addressing the media, MLA Dubey said, “Reasi’s unique blend of natural beauty and spiritual heritage holds vast promise. We are committed to converting this potential into sustainable development.”

Dubey lauded Sharma’s developmental initiatives and underlined the BJP-led Government’s commitment to empowering remote areas like Reasi. Both leaders highlighted the urgent need to improve road connectivity, sanitation and tourist amenities to boost footfall and generate employment.

The tour concluded with renewed assurances from the leadership to address public concerns and integrate Reasi more robustly into J&K’s broader tourism and development agenda.
