New Delhi, May 27 (H.S.): The domestic stock market is facing pressure during today's initial trading session, starting weakly. As trading commenced, selling pressure caused significant declines in both the Sensex and Nifty indexes within the first 15 minutes. However, buyers managed to create some momentum, resulting in slight recovery.

By 10 AM, the Sensex was down 1.01% and the Nifty 0.95%. Notable stocks like Bharat Electronics, Cipla, and Dr. Reddy's Laboratories showed gains between 0.95% and 0.20%, while UltraTech Cement, Grasim Industries, and others declined between 1.72% and 1.19%. A total of 2,359 stocks were actively traded, with 1,020 in the green and 1,339 in the red. Out of the 30 Sensex stocks, only one was gaining, while 29 declined due to selling pressure. In the Nifty, of the 50 stocks, only 2 were in the green, with 48 in the red.

The BSE Sensex opened at 82,038.20 points, down by 138.25 points, and dropped over 870 points to 81,303.88 points before stabilizing at 81,342.92 points by 10 AM, down 833.53 points. Simultaneously, the NSE Nifty opened at 24,956.65 points, down by 44.50 points, and fell over 200 points to 24,750.70 points before recovering slightly to 24,764.60 points, down by 236.55 points. On the previous trading day, the Sensex closed at 82,176.45 points, up 455.37 points, and the Nifty at 25,001.15 points, up by 148 points.
