New Delhi, May 27 (H.S.): Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on Tuesday that India's fintech companies are helping strengthen the country's digital public infrastructure (DPI) and empower micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The Union Finance Minister made this statement after visiting the office of digital fintech company Pine Labs located in Noida.
According to a statement issued by the Finance Minister's office on 'X', the Finance Minister interacted with the employees and staff members of Pine Labs. On this occasion, Sitharaman praised the contribution of India's fintech firms to the expansion of the country's digital public infrastructure (DPI) and to facilitating seamless, secure, and inclusive financial services for merchants and MSMEs.
The Finance Minister also spoke with Kuldeep Chauhan, a mobile retailer and customer of Pine Labs, who has greatly benefited from India's growing fintech ecosystem and robust digital public infrastructure (DPI). Kuldeep operates three retail stores in Noida selling mobile phones and electronics. His business has seen significant growth due to the widespread adoption of digital payments across the country.
Chauhan, a resident of the Hapur district in Uttar Pradesh, previously cultivated mangoes. The Finance Ministry stated that he now represents the spirit of ambitious Indians who are seizing new opportunities and contributing to India's growth story, as the country progresses towards becoming a developed nation by 2047, as envisioned by the Prime Minister.
Meanwhile, B. Amrish Rao, CEO of Pine Labs, wrote on 'X' that it was an exciting and incredible day... the entire house was filled, and our Finance Minister was fully immersed in her discussions and technical conversations.
