Prayagraj,
27 May (HS): Rich and glowing tributes were paid to architect of modern
India and first Prime Minister Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru on 61st death
anniversary by the City Congress Committee members here on Tuesday morning at
Anand bhawan, the home of Nehrus. Partymen garland the portrait of Panditji and
pay homage.
“Nehru's legacy continues to be
felt 61 years later, in 2025. Nehru's
tremendous attempt to lift India out of what the British had left behind has
now been replaced by Indians being pulled back into the same muck and filth of
ignorance, obscurantism, disempowerment, unfreedom, and, most importantly,
communal hate. Nehru continues to have a
significant impact on most parts of current Indian discourse, including
politics, foreign policy, economic growth, secularism, caste issues, art, and
culture. This is because the current Indian political system, formed by Prime
Minister Narendra Modi and the Sangh parivar to which he belongs, has made him
the target of ridicule and holds him personally responsible for everything that
is now wrong in India,” said senior Congress leader Shekhar Bahuguna.
On this occasion in a shradhanjali sabha,
City President Fuzail Hashmi said that Nehru was creator of modern India he was
the symbol of world peace and strengthened Country on economic issues. Partymen
said Nehru was the leader of non-aligned movement and panchsheel formula who
established the basic infrastructure of the Country in his golden 17 years tenure.
The Co-ordinator Rajan Dubey said beside Nehru's life and work has weakend in
the recent years in our country drowned out by misrepresrntaion and distortion.
Yet the ideas and values that he promoted are more relevant. The sabha was
conducted by UPCC former spokesman Kishore Varshney.
Later they also garlanded the
statue of Nehru at Balson Crossing and recalled his contribution to nation
building. Co-ordinator Harikesh Tripathi, secretary Mukund Tiwari, Ashfaq
Ahmed, Rajesh Rakesh, Sanjay Tiwari, Mahesh Tripathi, Parvez SiddiquI , Anoop
Tripathi, Arshad Ali, Manas Shukla, Parvez Ansari , Sharad Upadhyay, Nafees Anwar, Irshad Ullah, Javed Urfi, Dr
