New Delhi, May 27 (HS): Mixed signals characterize the global market today. With no trading in the American market due to Memorial Day, Dow Jones futures are currently up by 0.85 percent. European markets performed well in the previous session, with the CAC index closing at 7,828.13 points, up 1.20 percent, and the DAX index at 24,027.65 points, up 1.66 percent. However, the FTSE index saw no activity due to the holiday.
In contrast, Asian markets face considerable selling pressure today. Out of nine Asian market indices, seven are in the red, while two show minor gains. The Straits Times Index is slightly up by 0.06 percent at 3,878.07 points, and the Jakarta Composite Index is stable at 7,189.85 points with a near-zero increase. Conversely, the GIFT Nifty has dipped by 0.95 percent to 24,811.50 points, and the Taiwan Weighted Index is down by 0.73 percent at 21,379.67 points. Significant declines are also seen in the SET Composite Index, the KOSPI, Shanghai Composite, Hang Seng, and Nikkei indices.
