Prayagraj,
27 May (HS): In a key development to enhance train movement and passenger
convenience, North central Railway Project unit Prayagraj has commissioned two
Automatic Block Sections i.e. Jasra–Madraha–Lohgara Sections. The 12.1 km
stretch was commissioned during a scheduled traffic block and forms part of the
modernization of the busy Naini–Manikpur (92.53 km) route across Uttar Pradesh
and Madhya Pradesh. This route connects Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh and
trains connecting Kolkata to Mumbai and Eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar to
Western India and South India operate on this route. Also, trains transporting
coal to thermal power plants of this region also run through this section.
The
implementation of Automatic Block Signalling (ABS) will allow smoother and
faster operations by enabling multiple trains to run in the same direction on
the same line, reducing delays and increasing overall capacity.
Earlier,
in March 2025, Link Junction -Iradatganj - Jasra section (14.05 km) was also
commissioned with automatic signalling further contributing to the efficiency
of Naini–Manikpur route. This work was completed in full coordination and
planned manner by the teams of Headquarters and Prayagraj Division under the
guidance of General Manager North Central Railway Upendra Chandra Joshi &
Principal Chief Signal & Telecommunication Engineer Satendra Kumar.
