- Minister Pijush chaired DLMC meeting for Arunodaya beneficiary selection in Udalguri
Udalguri (Assam), 27 May (HS): On the second day of his two-day visit to Udalguri district, the district's Guardian Minister and Water Resources Minister Pijush Hazarika chaired a meeting of the District Level Monitoring Committee (DLMC) at the Deputy Commissioner's office. The purpose of the meeting was to review the effective implementation of the Arunodaya 3.0 scheme in the district. It is noteworthy that as per the instructions of the state government, DLMC committees have been constituted in all the districts for the implementation of this welfare scheme.
During the meeting, Minister Hazarika called upon all the members to ensure that all eligible beneficiaries are included under the scheme. He especially underlined the objectives of the scheme focused on women empowerment, poverty alleviation and economic upliftment. He asked for caution in the selection process.
Minister Hazarika described the Arunodaya Yojana as a visionary initiative of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma. He directed the officials to ensure that no eligible person is deprived of the scheme. He said that this scheme promotes economic empowerment and self-reliance of women. The role of women is very important in eradicating poverty from the society.
During today's program, Minister Hazarika also presented certificates of Shilpi Pension and Annual Artist Award to six artists of the district. Along with this, he also distributed financial grants to four registered youth clubs selected from the four assembly constituencies of the district. This grant is part of the initiative to support one youth club in each assembly constituency under the Sports and Youth Welfare Department of the state government.
Many dignitaries including Assam Assembly Speaker Biswajit Daimary, MP and State BJP President Dilip Saikia, MLAs Govind Chandra Basumatari, Durgadas Boro, Charan Boro and Bodoland Territorial Area Committee Executive Members Diganta Barua, Dr. Nilut Swargiari and Daobaisa Boro were present in the meeting.
