Chennai, 26 May (H.S.) : Two private bus drivers were taken into custody today by the police in connection with a fatal accident that claimed the lives of a couple near Tiruchengode in Coimbatore district. According to reports, the incident occurred on May 23, 2024, at around 08:30 IST.

The accident took place when the couple's vehicle was allegedly hit by one of the private buses, resulting in fatal injuries. The police registered a case and launched an investigation, which led to the arrest of the two bus drivers.

The authorities identified the arrested drivers as employees of a private bus operating in the region. Preliminary investigations suggest that rash and negligent driving by both drivers contributed to the accident.
