Sindhudurg, 26 May (HS): The loss in Sindhudurg

district is estimated to be Rs 21,44,170, due to rains during the last five

days. Heavy rains affected life and properties in 59 villages in the district.

Basic facilities were also affected; the estimate of the loss is about Rs

15000. The local administration reported damage to 54 houses, including the complete collapse of two houses.

The estimation of losses incurred and extending

financial help to the affected people is being done at a faster pace by the

local administration.

Meanwhile, a yellow alert for the district has been issued by the Met Office.
