Nagon (Assam), 26 May (HS): On Monday, while stocking fish seeds at the Jongalbolhugarh Government Fisheries Center in Roha, Nagon district of Assam, State Fisheries Minister Krishnendu Paul said that the state has now set a target of producing seven lakh metric tonnes of fish annually.

The minister said that the state government has taken a loan of ₹6.44 crore from NABARD for the development of the Fisheries Department and the Jongalbolhugarh Center. He said that high quality fish seeds are being produced at this center.

On this occasion, the minister appealed to the people to refrain from fishing in rivers, lakes and reservoirs without permission. Director of Fisheries Department Gaurishankar Das and local MLA Shashikant Das were also present in the program.--------------
