New Delhi, 28 February (HS): Dr Piyush Singh, a 2007 batch officer of the Indian Foreign Service (IFS), has been appointed as India's next Ambassador to the Republic of Paraguay. He is currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs.
The Ministry of External Affairs said in an official statement that Dr Piyush Singh will take over soon. His appointment is being considered important from the point of view of further strengthening bilateral relations between India and Paraguay.
Due to Dr Singh's diplomatic experience and deep expertise in foreign policy, it is expected that he will give a new direction to the economic, cultural and political relations between the two countries.
