Ranchi, March 27 (HS): On the third day of the budget session of Jharkhand Legislative Assembly, during the Question Hour on Thursday, Ranchi MLA CP Singh raised the issue of pending amount of Maiya Samman Yojana. He alleged that the government falsely claimed in the address that the beneficiaries are getting the amount of the scheme, while the installment of January and February has not been received yet. CP Singh stressed the need to give the benefit of Maiya Yojana to widowed women in the House. He told that widowed women between the ages of 18 to 50 years get only one thousand rupees. He raised the question that what is the fault of such women that they are not getting the benefit of the scheme. He raised the same question for disabled women as well and appealed to the government to give the benefit of Maiya Yojana to widowed and disabled women between the ages of 18 to 50 years.
On this, Minister Sudhivya Kumar Sonu advised CP Singh to read the rules. While answering the question of MLA CP Singh, Minister Chamra Linda said that the outstanding amount of Maiya Samman Yojana will be deposited in the accounts of women by March 15. While answering the question of CP Singh in the House, the minister said that the amount of Maiya Samman Yojana has started going to the accounts of women.
