Islamabad, February 27 (HS): The Standing Committee on Internal Affairs of the National Assembly of Pakistan has taken cognizance of the case of Mustafa Amir. Mustafa was murdered in Karachi last month. The committee has issued a notice to Sindh IG Ghulam Nabi Memon. He has been asked to appear before the committee on February 28.

According to ARY News, the notice states that the IG Sindh should submit details regarding the case along with other concerned police officials. Earlier, the Home Department of Sindh province issued a notification as per the instructions of the Sindh High Court. In this, the administrative powers of the judge in the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) 1 in the Mustafa Amir murder case were revoked. This step was taken after the controversy over the refusal of ATC 1 to remand Armaghan, the main accused in the Mustafa Amir murder case. The administrative powers of the ATC 1 judge have been transferred to the judge of ATC 3.

Earlier on February 26, the police produced two accused in the Mustafa Amir murder case, Armaghan and Shiraz, in the court of Judicial Magistrate South. The magistrate expressed disappointment over the negligence of the investigating officer due to which the identification parade of the accused could not be conducted. The statements of witnesses could not be recorded under Section 164. The court issued notice to the lawyers of the accused and ordered the suspects to be produced again today.

On January 6, Mustafa Amir was kidnapped and allegedly murdered by his friends in Defence Housing Authority, Karachi. According to the police, the friends stuffed his body in the trunk of his car and set it on fire in Hub area of ​​Balochistan.
