Kathmandu, 27 February (HS): After Nepali citizen Bipin Joshi was not included in the last batch of hostage release between Israel and Hamas, the hopes of his family members about his survival have started to break. Bipin's mother Padma Devi has written a letter to the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Nepal saying that till now we were sitting on the assurance of the government, but now our patience is breaking.

When Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, 2023, Nepali citizen Bipin Joshi was also taken hostage along with other Israeli citizens on the same day. During this, about a dozen Nepali students were also killed. Continuous diplomatic efforts were made by Nepal for the release of Nepali citizen Bipin Joshi who was taken hostage, but no success was achieved. In the first phase of ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, Hamas is handing over the bodies of four Israeli citizens on Thursday. Israel is also releasing 600 Palestinians, but no information has been given about Nepali citizen Bipin Joshi.

With the completion of the release of prisoners of war in the first phase, Bipin Joshi's family in Nepal is losing hope of his survival. Joshi's sister Pushpa Joshi said that even on the last day today, Bipin's name is not in the list of hostages released by Hamas, so she has demanded information about her brother from the Nepal government. Bipin's mother Padma Devi has written a letter to the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Nepal saying that till now we were relying on the assurances of the government, but now our patience is breaking. The hope of our son's survival is also diminishing.
