Mahakumbhnagar,
26 Feb (HS): The divine, grand and cultural gathering Mahakumbh, being
organized on the land of the holy land of Prayagraj since January 13, created
history on Wednesday by crossing the figure of 65 crores on the last bathing
festival of Mahashivratri. By 8 am on the last bathing festival of
Mahashivratri, lakhs of people took bath and set this great record and recorded
this Mahakumbh in the pages of history in terms of numbers. Not only Kumbh,
till date, such a large number of people have not gathered together in any
event in the world, as gathered in a temporary city built in Prayagraj within
45 days. This number is many times more than the population of many countries.
More than 65 crore devotees have set a unique example of religious and cultural
unity by taking a holy dip of Sanatan faith in the Triveni Sangam. This ancient
tradition of India has mesmerized the whole world with its divinity and
grandeur. All this has been possible due to the well-organized efforts of Chief
Minister Yogi Adityanath.
More
people took bath than the population of many countries: There is no other
example in history of 65 crore devotees gathering at one place. It is the
result of the faith, determination and belief of the devotees towards Sanatan
that such a huge crowd gathered on the banks of Sangam in 45 days. If this
number is compared with the population of countries around the world, then the
population of many countries will fit into it. More than twice the population
of America, more than two and a half times the population of Pakistan and more
than four times the population of Russia, devotees have come here so far. Not
only this, 5 times the population of Japan, more than 10 times the population
of UK and more than 15 times the population of France have come here and taken
a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam.
Almost
half of the country's population took a dip: In this Maha Kumbh organized in
Teerthraj Prayagraj, crores of devotees of Sanatan Dharma from not only India
but also from all over the world have taken a dip. If the number of devotees is
compared with the total population of the country, then according to this also
about 50 percent of India has taken a dip in the Triveni Sangam. On the other
hand, if we talk about the followers of Sanatan Dharma, then more than 60
percent of the country and about 55 percent of the Sanatani devotees of the
world have taken a holy dip. Devotees from all over the world have gathered to
take a holy dip in this 45-day long event. Diplomats from 73 countries along
with guests from many countries including Bhutan King Namgyal Wangchuk arrived
here to take the Amrit bath. Not only this, more than 50 lakh people from
Nepal, the maternal home of Maa Janaki, have become witnesses of the Maha Kumbh
by bathing in the holy water of Triveni so far. Apart from this, devotees have
arrived here from every corner of the world including Italy, France, UK,
Portugal, America, Israel, Iran, Mauritius.
The
number of devotees exceeded CM Yogi's expectations: The bathing of saints,
devotees, bathers and householders filled with devotion and faith in the holy
confluence of Maa Ganga, Maa Yamuna and invisible Maa Saraswati has now crossed
the peak which Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had hoped for before the Maha
Kumbh. CM Yogi had already predicted that the grand and divine Maha Kumbh being
organized this time will set a new record for the number of bathers. He had
initially predicted the arrival of 45 crore devotees. However, the number of
devotees went beyond CM Yogi's estimate. The figure of 45 crore devotees was
crossed on February 11 itself, while on February 22 this number reached above 60
crore. It created a new record by crossing the figure of 65 crore on
Mahashivratri.
